Holy Lord God, the Old Testament is full of blessings and cursings. I have observed that we are quick to claim the blessings, but appear to relegate cursings to the Old Testament, saying that with Your Son Jesus shedding His blood for us, they no longer apply. What would You say to me about this?
Ben, here again is religion at work. Religion selects that which fits someone’s thinking and desires. Scriptures are not to be separated out and ignored. I abhor the concept of an amputated Bible, where the Old Testament has limited value and reliance is to be given mainly to the New Testament. Many of the troubles observed in personal lives and in churches are a result of curses recorded in the Old Testament. When one does not recognize the enemy, the problem, they cannot effectively deal with it and bring deliverance. Take your own situation. Your family has suffered the effects of the curse of denying their Hebrew heritage. When you became aware of this, you learned that I broke these curses and set you free from them. This message goes to all of My people. I want them to come to Me so that I can set them free from the bondages and the curses that negatively affect their lives. I am the answer! Do not ignore the Old Testament. It is all there for a purpose - My purpose, which is to set My people free to worship Me in Spirit and in truth!

Hello Ben, I am proceeding

Hello Ben,
I am proceeding from new to old as I read and want to make a connection between this post and the 29th post. On the 29th the topic was the credit that we give to Satan, when really, the work is of God and maybe we should be paying attention to what and why things are going the way they are. Why has our God allowed something to proceed through Him and into our lives?
I tell my children that if they will not submit to parents then, as life goes on, other outside authorities come into play. The same is true for our Father in Heaven and us.
Blessing and cursing--reward and punishment--these are topics that our Western society has gotten pretty confused about. Situational ethics are considered sound reasoning and biblical truth is relegated to Sunday.
