What would you like to know?
God speak to me this morning.
What would you like to know?
Wow crazy. That’s you?
It’s me.
You, God? You’re asking what I want to know?
Yes.
You sure?? In the bible it’s only when someone’s been really good that you ask them stuff like that – almost acting as though you were their servant.
You should probably read again Mark, they weren’t being good, I wanted to act like their servant because I loved them.
That’s not a good enough answer God. You say you love everyone, so why were those people the only ones to get the special ‘God is my servant’ treatment? What made them so special??
Nothing.
I don’t get it. (Secretly amazed that when I told him his answer wasn’t good enough he didn’t whack me around the ears).
No you don’t get it, but you will. I’ll explain it. The times you read of it happening in the bible, are simply the time that are recorded in the bible. If a thing is recorded in the bible is that a guarantee it’s the only time it ever happened?
I guess not?
Obviously not. If it doesn’t say that’s the case then it’s probably not. Through the course of history millions of people have heard me turn up like a servant and ask how I can help. Which is why Religion says you’re supposed to ask ME that question. He wants to teach you the opposite of the truth. The real truth is that I’m asking how can I help you? So what would you like to know?
I’d like to know more about this please.
Ok. Those times down through history when people have heard me ask those sorts of ‘God as a servant’ questions are simply the times when people have actually heard me.
And?
But actually I am ALWAYS asking questions like that of every single human – how can I help? What would you like to know? What do you need me to do for you? I don’t ask in a cross judging sort of fashion like Religion suggests – I ask in the way a servant, or a doting father would ask.
God that sounds all very nice but it raises hard questions.
Yes?
Well if you’ve asked every human being that question then how come they haven’t heard you?
They have. But they didn’t know. Because no one taught them to listen. And those who do teach are often hell-bent on teaching them that they can’t hear unless they’re sinless. Which isn’t true.
So does that mean because no one taught them that they miss out?
Not at all. Mark even most Christians don’t realise they’ve heard me turn up like a servant and ask those questions. I do it daily, yet most never realise because no one teaches them how.
So people who know how need to teach those who don’t?
Yes and the teaching will get easier because you live in a most fortunate age. I’m tired of the silence imposed on mankind by Religion. I’ve had enough. So now a back and forward conversation with God is about to become common place. So I suggest you get ready for it.
How?
Listen.
Ok I’m listening, what are you saying?
I’m saying hi, what would you like? How can I help? What can I do for you?
We’re supposed to ask you that though God!! We’re supposed to sort of grovel about in front of you remembering our sin and your forgiveness.
Mark that’s his idea, not mine. He uses it to cover my real nature. The nature that prompts me to ask those questions. I repeat – what would you like? What do you want to know? How can I help? I want a conversation, not a list of requests. Does that make sense?
I bet it does, but it’s going to take a bit to undo all the old ideas about you.
Yes indeed. But well worth it.

I really enjoy your journals. As an outsider looking in, I'll bet you will really enjoy the Lord's words when doubt really does get out of the way. It's a struggle for all of us I know.
Very wise words!

Thanks for the encouragement about my discussions with God. And oh man!!! How right you are - when Doubt has been tied up and gagged and I don't have to listen to him. How good will that be!!
