Blessed Holy Lord God, looking at the Old and New Testament genesis of the word "grace",
the primary Hebrew and Greek definition is graciousness. Acts 4:33 says: "And the apostles
gave witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus with great power. And great grace was
on them all." "Great grace" intrigued me. I feel there is greater depth of understanding on
what is "grace". Lord, I need Your revelation about "grace".
Ben, grace is My unmerited favor. Grace is love in action. I not only extend My grace to whomsoever, I desire that My people extend grace to each other. Great grace is one way of saying My grace is marked by signs and wonders. Grace is a trademark of love, so to speak.
Lord, I looked up gracious in Webster’s Dictionary on line, which said that "Godly" is an obsolete definition. What do You say?
Ben, here again is religion at work. How is it at work? Religion affects life in many ways.
Religious beliefs are carried over into every aspect of life. Religious thinking influences even when it is not recognized as being religious. As people drift further and further away from My basic truths, they change the basic meaning of words, of phrases, of thoughts, to conform to their thinking. Grace is like love. I am grace and I am love, so to say that gracious is not Godly is not truth!
Father, You said You are grace. Help my understanding.
Ben, I am many things. I do many things. What I am and how I do are all products of My nature, of Me. Therefore it is not incorrect to say that I am grace, that I am love, that I am God. I am My characteristics!
