How blessed is the man who delights in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season, And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers (Ps. 1:1-3)
Dr. Caroline Leaf has teaching videos where she shows that biblical meditation builds new brain cells, which she says can be described as “trees” within your brain neural network. Psalm 1:1-3 carries it one step further, saying that as you meditate on God’s thoughts exclusively, you actually become like a tree, firmly planted in the revelation of the Holy Spirit, and bearing the fruits of the Holy Spirit out through your life.
According to your faith, be it unto you (Matt. 9:29).
God has wired us so that what we believe is what we get. I can believe in the power of satan, the power of self or the power of God, and that belief will draw corresponding realities to my life. I used to believe in the power of the antichrist. Those who teach the power of positive thinking believe in the power of the human spirit, and now as a Spirit-filled Christian, I believe I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
For example, in the article “Just say I can do it” from Reader's Digest, page 82 Nov. 2016, it tells of 44,000 volunteers who played an online game against a computer. Those who were asked to use self-talk (i.e. telling themselves “I can beat my best score” or "I can react more quickly next time”) and imagery (e.g. imagining playing well) excelled beyond the control group.
This becomes just one more evidence that “according to your faith, it will be done to you.”
So I have turned away from believing in the power of satan, evil or the anti-christ, and chosen instead to focus on the verses which clearly say satan was defeated at Calvary, and now we are ruling and reigning with Christ, as we are seated with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians chapters 1 and 2).
Obviously satan wants the church to believe in his power, but why would I want to believe in him and release him in my life? I am DONE with that. Now I believe that of the increase of God’s government, there will be no end (Isa. 9:7), and I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me. I just love believing in God and that we are here doing the mop up operations from His encompassing victory at Calvary.
What He accomplished at Calvary was so far beyond my wildest expectation that it has taken me 50 years, just to come to the place where I could list even 12 of the amazing graces Christ released at Calvary.
Let’s believe ALL that He has said about us and take the world by storm, discipling all nations, as we have been instructed to do. Who are you supposed to be discipling?
