Have you ever encountered Christians with a sense of entitlement? Most Christian ministries operate by freewill offerings, but the Bible does not require this. It does say that those who minister the gospel are able to make their living of the gospel. There is nothing wrong with charging a registration fee for a conference with real expenses. There are many gospel resources that are free in comparison to the world of commerce. Are you familiar with the passage, freely you have received, freely give? This sounds better coming from the one giving than from the one receiving.

leviticus 7:35 This is that which is consecrated to Aaron and that which is consecrated to his sons from the offerings by fire to the LORD, in that day when he presented them to serve as priests to the LORD. 36These the LORD had commanded to be given them from the sons of Israel in the day that He anointed them. Numbers 18:8
Then the LORD spoke to Aaron, "Now behold, I Myself have given you charge of My offerings, even all the holy gifts of the sons of Israel I have given them to you as a portion and to your sons as a perpetual allotment.
I also do not agree with the ministers of God asking for love gifts all kinds of offerings. But in my understanding ministers are supposed to partake of what is brought to God as offerings. but they are not to coerce believers to give against their will. These offerings in the old testament were brought as thanksgiving and sin offerings freely in obedience to the laws of Moses. And through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ alot of that has been done away with. so it is right for these minister to clearly and openly let the believers know the need that is there in the ministry and ask for their support towards God's service so as to serve a clear purpose.
