The pictures we gaze upon in our minds produce emotions that gently heal or quickly destroy our health. With 90% of doctor’s visits being caused by stress, and stress being caused by pictures, I need Jesus to heal the pictures I gaze upon, allowing me to see them from His perspective.
A hurt is healed when…
Dennis and Matt Linn taught us that “A hurt is healed when you can see the gift God has produced in your life through the experience.”
I LOVE that definition. It lines up perfectly with God’s promise that He works all things out for good to those who love Him (Rom. 8:28).
When I walked through severe rejection and hated those who caused the pain, I ended up six months later with arthritis, which was only healed when I did inner healing prayer and asked Jesus to show me where He was in the painful situation. He did. He was laughing hilariously, and said, “Mark, I told you to move and you wouldn’t, so I had to throw you out so you would fulfill your destiny. So celebrate these people who rejected you because they were instruments in My hand, thrusting you into the fulfillment of your destiny.”
I repented of my sin and my anger and chose to be thankful, and within 24 hours half my arthritic pain was gone and within a week it was all gone.
Is it OK if I just repent of my anger and move to “neutral toward the ‘offender’”?
NO! Because there is no neutral. There is light and darkness, life and death, good and evil, love and hate. Lukewarm/neutral is spit out of God’s mouth (Rev. 3:16).
Since emotions are byproducts of pictures, and I want Kingdom emotions, I need Kingdom pictures to gaze upon. Kingdom pictures create a soft inner glow within my heart which turns on my healing genes and turns off the inflammatory genes.
I want and need this soft inner glow of pictures of thankfulness and gratitude being held within me so I am warmed with God’s healing touch from the inside out.
How in the world would I find the gift in the atrocities I have walked through?
Through journaling, ask God to show you the gift. He can and He will, if you ask. Here are some of the traumas I have walked through, and the gifts God told me came out of them.

So now I have lots of gentle, heartwarming pictures glowing in my spirit, producing ongoing gratitude through all the trials I have experienced because they have freed me to fulfill God's destiny for my life. Each glowing picture warms my heart, turns on my immune system, and contributes to ongoing health. Love it!
