How can I be filled with peace and joy when all is turmoil around me – turmoil not only in society and the political world, but in the Church also, with 47,000 different denominations.
The answer is to daily receive God’s worldview.
My worldview will determine the pictures I hold in my mind’s eye. And since my emotions are a result of the pictures I am viewing in my mind, I must be aware of the worldview that I have adopted. My worldview can be clearly seen by the emotions I feel and exhibit.
Some possible choices could include a conservative worldview, a liberal worldview, a religious worldview, or God’s worldview, which is received through daily communion with Him. Only one of these will keep you in perfect peace (Isa. 26:3 YLT).
As I read headlines and articles in both conservative and liberal news sites, or even blogs by Christians about other Christian groups they disagree with, I ask, “Do I sense accusation, slander, and partial truths being presented?” The answer that comes back to me most often is, “Yes.”
A recent experience from someone close to me illustrates the insidiousness of the enemy’s tactics. A video was shared in a group text chat that appeared to show a longtime minister of the gospel being sentenced to life in prison. There was sadness and concern expressed over how this man of God had fallen, yet the entire piece was discovered to be fake news!
None of it was true, and if you watched the YouTube channel posting the videos, you’d find several more of your favorite and most respected Christian ministers in orange jumpsuits, because according to the “exposés,” they are all going to jail. Wow!
Since we are commanded to honor and love all people, and to fix our minds on things that are lovely, just, and of a good report (Phil. 4:8), it is important to not let slander, accusation, or judgment corrode our souls.
It is satan who is the liar, deceiver, accuser, adversary, and thief who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy our faith, hope, and love. We must proactively protect ourselves from the poison of gossip and guard our heart with all diligence, for from it flows the springs of life (Prov. 4:23).
I recently felt overwhelmed, depressed, and then excited.
Recently I became overwhelmed by the massive amounts of evil and corruption being exposed daily. As I became quiet before the Lord, He reminded me that I, along with many Christians, had been praying for wickedness to be exposed and removed, and that this was His answer to those prayers. Therefore, I should rejoice and be glad and not depressed! This simple word happily recalibrated me back to God’s worldview.
So, once again, I am reminded, “Mark, you must always be receiving My worldview if you want to experience My Kingdom emotions of love, joy, and peace” (Rom. 10:17; 1 Cor. 13).
We must all find hope and life by being daily counseled by God!
So, if you are tired and weary of the fighting between the conservatives and liberals, and even within the Christian church denominations and individuals, remind yourself to live as Jesus lived, out of communion with our heavenly Father (Jn. 5:19,20,30).
There is only one worldview worth having. That is God’s worldview, and we can receive that through fresh manna every morning as we journal and ask God what He is saying to us for the day we are living. It is all quite simple, but ONLY if we do it.
This month’s free worldwide video series is “Counseled by God.”
Reviewing this training will remind us of the need for the habit of daily journaling about every issue that touches our lives. We must allow Him to show us every circumstance from His perspective and see what He is doing in the midst of it all. This way, we stay focused on God’s worldview, which infuses us with His life, joy, peace, and excitement. Then we have something to share.
For heaven’s sake, if we can’t get along with believers who hold different positions than us and feel the need to create 47,000 subgroups, which find it challenging to speak lovingly to one another and not de-platform them as spreaders of misinformation, how can we expect the world to live to this standard? The amount of disdain expressed everywhere, all the time, can be overwhelming if we are not receiving God’s counsel every single day!
Thankfully I can behold Jesus with me daily: “Behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the world” (Matt. 28:20 Modern KJV). Since the veil to the Holy of Holies was torn from top to bottom (Matt. 27:51), we now have direct daily access to God's voice every single day. Lord, thank You for this amazing gift (Jn. 10:27)!
