Do you like to receive correction? Yet my word promises that you need it and will receive it. Do you think of it as the same thing as punishment? These are separate concepts. Punishment is the penalty for wrongdoing. It looks to the past and imposes judgment. Correction means to make correct. It addresses things that are wrong for the purpose of making them right. It doesn’t imply judgment and it doesn’t look to the past, but rather to the future for improved performance. Do punishment and correction feel the same to you in the moment? I want you to understand how different they are so you can receive correction without opposition.
