We are excited to welcome you as a participant in our Bible Lover's Series. We want these to be powerful life-giving times of sharing revelations together. We are planning on one hour, once a week on Monday 9:00 EST, beginning Sept 9th. The first course of this series (Pentateuch – first 5 books of the Bible) takes 12 weeks to complete. We will be following the Scripture reading assignment schedule posted weekly during the webinar. This assignment schedule is also available as a PDF download here.
We ask you to follow along with the Bible reading and the assignments, using the Through the Bible Workbook. There is also a Through the Bible Handbook of Answers, which we encourage you to get so you can compare the answers you get to the guided self-discovery questions to the answers we got as we worked through this series. And of course, you should have the CDs or DVDs (or digital downloads) of Dr. Andrew Hardy's week-by-week teachings, so you receive scholarly input on each section of Scripture as you read it.
This package of materials is available at a discounted price (until end of September). Order the entire Through the Bible series by clicking here. If you prefer to only order the first of these eight “Through the Bible” courses (i.e. Pentateuch), then you can order Pentateuch here (for under $30).
The idea is that you are carefully reading and meditating upon Scripture, filling in chapter titles on the graphs as you go along, and answering the assigned discussion questions each week which will cause you to dig into these Scriptures.
In our weekly hour-long webinar, we want people to share and post the revelations and insights God is giving them, and any questions they may have. We want you journaling each week, as you read the assigned Scriptures, and asking God these questions...
- Lord, what do You want to share with me from this section of Scripture?
- What are You saying to me through these passages?
- How are You asking me to change?
- What blessing or correction do You have for me from this section of Scripture?
I encourage you to type up your two-way journaling, and come prepared to share it by pasting it into our chat box in the webinar. And as others are reading and commenting on what the Lord has spoken to you and being blessed by it, they will have the option of copying out of the chat box anything they would like to save for future meditation in the separate “note box” on the webinar screen, which is where each participant can take their own notes on the dialogue taking place, or copy the dialogue from the “chat” box” to their “note box.” Then when the webinar is ready to conclude, we will give a final instruction to you to copy your notes out of your “note box” and down to your computer so you can save them in a file for future reference.
So our goal during the hour we spend together weekly is that we share revelations the Lord has given us from the previous week’s Bible meditations. This will be a time of sharing revelations. It should be a glorious time as people from around the world meditate together on Scripture and share their insights with one another.
The room will be open for you to enter at 8:50, which is 10 minutes before the meeting begins. First session is Monday, September 9th, 9:00PM EST, so come prepared to make new friends and explore the first five books of the Bible together under the illumination of the Holy Spirit. Week one, we will get acquainted with the software, and with each other, and with the Through the Bible workbook and the process, and cover Genesis chapter 1, and the Discussion Questions 1 and 2.
Dr. Mark Virkler will be hosting these first 12 weeks of Pentateuch and expects to be present for all 12 weeks. He will be speaking live, interacting with what is being posted, answering questions, and sharing his own revelations. It will be a fun time of sharing revelations together.
Pre-flight Check
Before the day of the first meeting, please visit this page to test and ensure your computer is set up and compatible with the webinar software. This will help you avoid surprises at the last minute, and scrambling to figure out why you can't join the meeting as it's starting!
Discover these apps that allow you to access the meetings using your mobile device (including Apple, Android, and Blackberry).
How Do I Get Into the Webinar?
On Monday, September 9th, 9:00PM EST, go to: http://connectpro84961140.adobeconnect.com/bible-lover/
Type in your name and log in as a guest.
The room holds 100. We will be recording the webinar, so if more than 100 show up and you can't get in, you will at least be able to view the recording later. We will then find a solution for the next week's meeting.
If you are having trouble and cannot get in, please review the troubleshooting section at the end of this 2-page Visual Quick Start Guide. If that doesn't resolve your problem, send an email to josh@cluonline.com as he will be online before and throughout the webinar to assist any experiencing difficulties.
How to Use the Webinar Software
Here is an overview of Adobe Connect:
You are encouraged to review this 2-page Visual Quick-Start Guide about how to participate in the meeting.
Most of the interaction will be done through the chat window, with all participants able to type messages there. For those who would prefer to talk rather than type, there may be times that you are invited to do so, and one person at a time will be given the floor to speak.
This will require that you have a microphone already set up and working on your computer (laptops and webcams usually have one built-in). Be sure you have successfully used your microphone (with Skype, for example) before trying to use it in the meeting. Also, please read over this 2-page Visual Quick-Start Guide first as well.
To confirm you are ready to speak, in the webinar room, on the top left of the screen, click on Meeting, then click on Audio Setup Wizard and follow the instructions. This will help make sure everything is configured properly before you have the floor.
Once you have been been selected and given microphone and video rights, you must click on the little microphone icon along the top of the screen to enable it. If you’d like to broadcast video using your webcam, you can also click on the little person icon next to the microphone.
I look forward to meeting you Monday, September 9 at 9:00 PM EST!
