Most people do not examine their faults because it is an unpleasant experience. Others examine their faults for the purpose of condemning themselves.
Neither of these is a Biblical approach, but I have still commanded you to judge yourself and to examine yourself prior to taking communion, that you may do so in a worthy manner. Your judgment of yourself should not be for condemnation, but for the redemptive purpose that your faults may be corrected and eliminated. You may not enjoy taking the initiative to deal with these things yourself, but that is better in every way than requiring others to correct you. Judge yourself and you will not be judged.
