You cherish heirlooms that are of great sentimental value to you. You realize that you have a finite time on this earth, and hope that when you are gone someone else will value them as you did. When your time approaches you would rather give them to the right person instead of selling them on the open market even if they have significant monetary value.
I am not disposing of an estate, but my work in your world must pass from one generation to the next. I give gifts to every generation for this purpose. I look for those who will cherish them according to their true value, and use them accordingly. On them I pour out gifts in great abundance.
