Are You Willing to Fight to Get Your Bible Back?
The Bible is meant to be lived! As the years progressed, I discovered that I can personally have ALL the same supernatural experiences I find recorded in Scripture. I believe that anything in the Old Testament that Jesus did not fulfill or change is still in effect and to be lived out in my life today. Today I can say, “The Bible is meant to be lived” and “I am living more of the Bible - cover to cover - every day!” I have fought the good fight of faith and I have won the battle! Spirit-anointed living is now mine! Thank You, Lord, for setting me free and revealing Your truth to me.
Press in - fight the good fight! I discovered that each of the above forms of spiritual encounter created a new challenge for me to research, accept and then seek to press into and experience for myself.
Speaking in tongues was huge and once I received the gift, I thought I had arrived! Then along came casting out of demons, and that was also a huge battle to accept theologically and then to administer effectively. Then came dream interpretation and that was a challenge and a skill that took a year to become proficient at.
Don't camp out! I find that many people camp out along the way, and don’t keep moving on to embrace all forms of spiritual encounter as found in Scripture. At this point of my life, I am committed to explore, embrace and live every form of spiritual encounter described in the Bible. I believe we can all live the Bible, period!
Get your whole Bible back! A full 49% of the New Testament contains references to spiritual experiences (3874 NT verses out of the total of 7957 NT verses). The verses that were counted which totaled 3874 included the following words: spirit, Holy Spirit, angels, demons, devil, miracles, signs, power, healing, resurrection, eternal life, grace, gifts, dreams, visions, prophecy, tongues, wisdom, knowledge, faith, gospel, kingdom of heaven, judgment, eternal punishment.
It is absolutely astounding that during the first 10 years of my Christian life, I chose to dismiss the one-third of the Bible which is an outworking of dreams plus a total of 49% of the New Testament which deals with the supernatural aspects of Christianity, and still in my mind I had convinced myself that I was a “Bible believing Christian!”
There IS more! During those first 10 years of my walk with the Lord, my heart kept saying, “There has to be more, there has to be more.” Thank You, Lord, that the passion You put in my heart won! Now, I can walk and live in the Spirit, and not be bound by the theological limitations of a “Protest-ant” movement.
Jesus speaks: “Thank you, Mark, for responding to your heart. You could have gone with your mental reasoning, but you chose to go with My passion in your heart. For that I am very glad, for now we can fulfill the destiny I have planned for you.”
