It is always fun to hear from readers who are putting the principles they are learning into practice! I had the pleasure of meeting Jaime Redcay and her beautiful family at a Hearing God Through Your Dreams workshop and it has been so exciting to see Holy Spirit work in their lives through their visions of the night.
During the weekend event, I invited Jaime and her son to share some of their dreams and the incredible messages they received through them as they expertly put their interpretation skills to work. Everyone was blessed and encouraged by their powerful testimonies, realizing that if a 10-year-old boy can interpret his dreams, they can too. Way to go, guys!
So proud of them both and I have asked Jaime to share a couple more dreams and interpretations here to inspire you on your own nightly journey with heaven. Enjoy!
Jaime's Story
As I breathed prayers through our home with unction, I declared the blood of Jesus over every door, every single room. With intention, I bound up every lie and spirit that was at work to rob and steal from my family. Each step I took with boldness to carry light and the blood of Jesus, believing even though I couldn't see it with my physical eyes HE was covering and sealing our home. I felt weary from the battle, weary in the waiting for victories I longed to see in our family, but I knew, that I knew that Jesus held the victory already and my job as Mama is to hold my post interceding until I can see it.
The next morning I heard it, one of my favorite morning greetings in our home, this time from our youngest son, “I had the craziest dream, Mama.” Understanding God’s messages to us as a family each night has sincerely changed our lives and drawn the Rowdy Redcays (our family) even closer into the sweet arms of Jesus.
I’ve personally been a vivid dreamer since I was a child, but for most of my life I thought Jesus just occasionally gave me a message in a dream, and the rest were random reflections from life. When I learned that every night He was speaking to me, even in the crazy dreams, I changed my habits to value sleep and every single dream our family has. Why would we ever disregard a word from the Lord? When I began to value them, the dreams I remembered increased to every night.
When Jesus gives one of our sons a prophetic dream for us as parents, it feels like a special hug to our hearts from Him. It’s been incredible to experience breakthrough in this way and totally builds our faith for more.
As I listened to my son share that morning, tears welled up in my eyes. He had no idea how much my heart needed to hear the message Jesus gave him in this dream. “I was in the kitchen looking for a pitcher and felt something in the back of the cabinet. It was a red button, I had not seen it there before. When I pushed the button, red metal doors came down over all our windows and doors in our house. I knew we were safe. I realized there was a password to make the red metal doors go up and down and it was a name. My brothers and I could use the name to make the doors go down to protect our neighbors' homes too.”
My heart was pounding with gratitude as I listened to my 10-year-old share. I explained that the day before I’d been declaring the blood of Jesus over every door in our home. This super fun dream that Jesus gave him was a special picture of what’s happening in the spirit realm around our home as we speak the name of Jesus: the power of His blood is real and is protecting us!
Reading the book, Hearing God Through Your Dreams by Dr. Charity Kayembe as a family and attending her conference together was a game changer for us. She equipped us with simple tools to decode our dreams, so we don’t miss out on nightly conversations with Jesus.
One dark early morning, I sat on the couch curled up with Jesus. The house was quiet, and I desperately needed His strength. Most of the night I’d been at war. I prayed, cried and prayed some more. I could see and feel the darkness of the enemy grasping for our family and our destiny. It would come in waves through the night, I declared truth over and over again believing by faith for breakthrough I couldn't see yet. Then it happened again, my 10-year-old crawled out of bed and snuggled beside me and said, “I had the best dream, Mama.”
“You and Daddy were standing in front of our house and Emperor Palpatine (the evil character from Star Wars) pulled into our driveway and started fighting you. You and Daddy had light sabers, and you fought back, then he left. A minute later he came back and had someone else with him, but you and daddy fought them, and they left. Next he came back with 3 guys, and you fought them until they ran away. Then he came back AGAIN, this time with 4 bad guys! But when they got out, they saw you standing with your light sabers ready to fight. They looked scared, so they jumped back into the van, and they left!”
I explained to my son that Mama had been up all night praying and fighting for our family, then Jesus gave him this dream to show us what HE saw last night. He sees us as warriors and is showing us that our prayers are powerful and defeating the enemy. Knowing that Jesus is trusting him with special messages for our whole family totally rocks his world. He feels seen, he experiences an increased awareness of his prophetic gifts, and he grows in his confidence to be a messenger. Most importantly, his love for Jesus deepens.
One of the many things I love about the gift of dreams is how powerful the images continue to be even years later. My boys can still hear the sounds and visualize with clarity images Jesus has given them in daytime visions or when they sleep. It’s a powerful weapon from the Lord, for when they feel attacked by the enemy they know they have victory because they've seen it in their dreams.
Jesus has given our family breakthrough, comfort, direction and so much love through nightly dreams. Charity points out in her book that a ⅓ of the way the Lord spoke in the Bible is through dreams and visions. Friends, our God has not changed. His heart to speak to us has not changed. What has changed? The Rowdy Redcays! Understanding our nightly dreams and daily visions has absolutely changed our lives and we’re so grateful.
