Marketing to the poor

You are familiar with marketing campaigns since you live in a commercial culture. These campaigns are directed at a target audience, normally one with money, for obvious reasons. Have you noticed that the gospel message is basically a marketing campaign aimed at poor people? Consider the circumstances of my birth which could hardly have been more modest. During my life I was always outside the existing structures of power and influence. The poor people heard me gladly and I was accused of being a friend of sinners (true). The gospel message is for everyone, but the first shall be last and the last first.
