I have given you the power to heal yourselves.

God I’m often not comfortable with all this talk about the power of our minds, about the importance of getting our thinking right – can you explain how all that works please? Does it really fit with a conversation with you? If so can you explain how please?

Yes it fits with a conversation with me. You know it does! You know that when you are thinking happier thoughts, your life seems to go well, right then in the moment things flow better when you’re thinking and feeling happier. The effect of better thoughts is so powerful that you can change an entire moment, simply by choosing to think the best of the other person and of yourself right then in the moment. A situation always improves when you imagine the best happening in that situation.

Ok.

Yes it is ok, VERY ok, much more ok than the alternative. You know that.

Alright God, but then people take the concept and try to apply it to bigger things – health, finances, relationships - they say if you imagine big things happening in those areas they are more likely to happen.

Mark of course it makes those things more likely to happen, you know that’s true too. If you feel a cold coming on and you begin to expect that you’re going to get a cold and get sick, then you do. But if you decide you’re far too busy to get a cold, and imagine yourself getting on with the work, the cold often doesn’t amount to anything. You grossly underestimate the power of the mind that I’ve given you. I’ve given you the power to heal yourselves. Yes when you pray I will heal you, but you could often have done so yourselves with your mind.

God this seems dangerous – too humanistic? We’re taught we need to allow you to improve our fortunes, but this sounds like you’re saying that we should be THINKING our health, our relationships, our jobs, our finances – thinking everything to a better place.

Yes you should. That’s exactly what I’m saying. But if you want the whole story about the power of your mind you need to do more than just read about it – anyone who wants to know how to use the power of their minds needs to discuss the subject with me. Regularly. Don’t imagine you understand the concept after reading a book or two. You don’t. Reading about it is a very good start, but many conversations with me are required to learn the correct use of the mind. Many. Many, many, many!

Mark here’s a quick tip: You already organise, or attempt to organise your health, relationships, jobs and finances to a better place. And well you should, that’s just common sense. You work, talk, plan and organise in an effort to improve all those things and that’s good, I’ve built you that way. You’re designed to want to improve your lot. Your problem is that if your effort to do so isn’t tangible and visible; if the things you do to improve your lot can’t be seen then you think they’re spiritual, and that worries you. You think that the seen and tangible world belongs to humanity and the unseen world is entirely spiritual – to do with me or the demonic forces. You Christians are so religious – you think than anything unseen that isn’t done directly by me, must be demonic. You’re wrong!

Humans are designed by me to do things in ways that cannot be seen with the naked eye. A world class rower trains hard physically every day – you can see that - AND yet that same rower also achieves his goal by imagining – he imagines winning the Olympic title, he imagines it again and again until he can feel it, hear the applause, feel the medal around his neck. The physical training he does consciously, constantly - the imagining he does without even realising it – yet which do you think is the most significant of the two in helping him win that medal, the training or the thinking?

The thinking?

Absolutely it’s the thinking. Mark do you think the world’s fastest gold medal track star is the fastest runner alive?

I don’t know.

Of course not! There are others capable of faster times, but some of them will never even run competitively. That’s simply because they don’t THINK they can. Some of them wish they could, but do not believe they can. And yes Mark I said that. Me. The One. You didn’t make that up. The reason so many writers have observed and written what I am saying here is that it’s true.

Ok God then how come there’s not much about this in the bible?

Read again Mark. The ENTIRE BIBLE is about this subject. Some verses are obvious; ‘As a man thinks, so he is’ but the entire book is about belief. ‘And Jesus did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief’. Read what happens to those who expect better things, and to those who don’t. ‘What I have greatly feared has come upon me.”

Then how come it’s the secular writers who are writing about this so much?

Because you Christians won’t, and I’m not prepared to allow you to smother truth. You Christians are too blind to see it, and the truth is much too important for me to allow it be hidden by your religion. The invisible power behind religion wants to diminish humanity; to keep himself and his kind safe he wants humans to think less of themselves, he wants you to see yourselves as insignificant and grovelling before a mighty God. That’s his idea Mark, not mine. Yes sure I’m mighty, but so are you, ‘Let us make man in our image’. I don’t want you grovelling, I want you to stand tall, but if you don’t think you can, you won’t.

I want you to have confidence in yourselves, to understand the power that I’ve built into you. Yes you choose to do some unwise things with the power I have given you, but that doesn’t mean you’re not powerful. The truth about the power of your minds is too important to stay hidden. Without that truth humans are functioning at half strength. I don’t want that so I explain it to anyone who asks. It’s an obvious truth, it’s an apparent and obvious fact of life that anyone can see, and I am no respecter of persons. If a person who doesn’t believe what you do has an enquiring mind I will explain the truth about the power of the mind to them. I allow an unbelieving scientist to discover the truth about the physical body, why wouldn’t I allow them to learn the truth about the mental and emotional body??

But God they won’t even know that it’s you doing the explaining.

No. And the same is true of you Christians! Most of what I say to you, you are completely unaware that I said it. Others are discovering anew this truth that is so apparent – the truth that you can imagine things into being – you are designed to do so. The problem is that you Christians are so superstitious you can’t see the truth that others are eager to learn. You Christians are comfortable helping yourselves and building things with your hands. I have given you hands and bodies and skills and you’re happy to use them to improve your lives. You don’t sit back and expect me to build you a home, you expect to build it yourself.

Yes?

Mark I gave you your hands, but I also gave you your minds. So if it’s acceptable to use your own hands how can it be wrong to use your own mind? I’ll tell you why you think it’s wrong Mark, why all you Christians are stuck unable to use the inestimable power of the minds I’ve given you – because you’re so superstitious! You’re uncomfortable with anything that you can’t see. If you don’t understand it, you think it must be wrong. It has always been the same – religious people decrying everything from modern medicine to the invention of the telephone and radio waves as evil. If it’s not immediately understandable, you Christians deem it wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Is it any wonder that the rest of humanity is so uncomfortable around your religion? You all think it’s because they are mislead and you are right, but often Mark it’s the other way around.

If something unseen happens – a person’s health, finances or relationships are dramatically and miraculously improved – if that happens without any visible, tangible and obvious cause then you assume the cause must have come from the spirit world – either a miracle from me or some sort of help from the demonic world. And of course that does happen, but you Christians need to recognise the God-designed power of the human to think things into being. It’s not evil, it’s how I’ve designed you. You do it without realising every day.

What do you mean God?

When you are enjoying a situation, you naturally imagine a better outcome and as a result that’s what you get. You KNOW that’s true Mark, it’s a self-evident fact of life. Whereas when you imagine things turning out bad that’s where they begin to head. If you think about it, you’ll recognise that’s true too.

Aaah God everyone knows about positive thinking, we’ve all heard the speakers and read the books. I feel like I’m just making this up, it’s just stuff I’ve read that I’m regurgitating.

Mark you all know about better eating and better exercise too. You’ve all read the books and heard the speakers. Just because it’s popular thinking does that mean that it’s not godly?

No.

The same goes for better thinking. A human can influence his world and his circumstances, both right there in the moment, but also on a much larger scale simply with his thinking Mark. Am I expecting you to just sit and think things into being without any other effort? Of course not; I gave you a mind and a body. You need to think and do – but you also need to DO AND THINK. I AM EXPECTING YOU TO PUT A LOT MORE EFFORT INTO THINKING THINGS INTO BEING, a lot more Mark.

Give up your superstition and fear that thinking things into being is somehow evil – it is not! Thinking things into being is amoral, it is simply an ability I have built into you. What you use it for is when it becomes good or bad. It is no more or less evil than bringing things to pass with your external faculties – your hands, your words, your organisational ability, your other talents. Your mind is an internal faculty, those things are external. Both are designed by me to enable you to create and build. Some things you imagine and then build into place with your hands, other things you are meant simply to imagine into place – there are some things that you are meant to bring to pass purely and simply by imagining them into being.

Which things are which God? Which things are we meant to make happen with our hands and external faculties and which purely with our imagining?

You’ll have to ask me that Mark – there is no instruction that fits all, the answer is on an individual basis. So much of life is like that. You can’t just take a teaching and live by it, you need to ask me what I am saying to you through that teaching. I have different answers for different people. And so here we are back at the key problem facing humanity. The common problem. You don’t know how to hear me. Believers and not-believers, it doesn’t matter, your malaise is common to ALL humans. So few of you know the real truth about me, that I want to talk, back and forward like a friend. So few!
