What is your motivation for going to church? Do you go for your own benefit or for the benefit of the Kingdom of God? Is it possible to get both? How many people do you know who do not go to church because they don’t get anything out of it? I addressed this matter when I said that if you seek to save your life you will lose it, but if you lose your life for my sake and the Kingdom of God, you will find it. Is this passage a mystery to you? Yet you have already seen those who are ‘all about themselves’ who regress, while those who are willing to deny themselves to commit to a greater cause advance. So you can have both, but motivation matters.
