I took you seriously when you gave your life to me. Now you are bought with a price and you are not your own. Therefore I have the authority to intervene in your life, and to expect you to obey. On one hand you have already given me blanket permission.
On the other, I am the potter and you are the clay, and furthermore I am the sovereign Lord of all I have created. Do you view this in a negative sense? Consider that I am good in everything I do to you, and to everyone else, sending sun and rain on the just and on the unjust, but you have my guarantee that I will intervene to perfect that which concerns you, and that nothing shall separate you from me or take you from my hand.
