It's a Sweet Smell

Sometimes I think it can be hard to understand or recognize the glorious life we carry with us when we have given our hearts to Jesus.  Sometimes days just seem so dark and we can barely lift our heads.  But when we are pursuing His heart I think it’s difficult to keep the kind of life Jesus ignites us with inside.  Maybe impossible. 

I was in an office supply store one day when I happened to look at the woman beside me in line.  She was pleasant looking enough but that’s not what grabbed my attention.  What grabbed my attention was what looked like little wispy trails of smoke rising from her.

But it wasn’t smoke.  The woman wasn’t on fire.  It didn’t look like smoke I just don’t really know how else to describe it.  There were three curly fingers of the substance just slowly floating up from her.  I was aware that what I was seeing was in the Spirit and that the Lord was allowing me to see something important. 

So I asked the Lord what I was seeing and He began to speak to me about the sweet fragrance she was to him.  What I was seeing was her sweet smell rising to Him as her heart had been captivated by Jesus.

But I wanted to know where the fragrance was originating.  Was it coming straight from her heart?  So I asked to Lord where the aroma was coming from and He directed me to her feet.  As the woman began to move forward I saw sweet smelling flowers and grass bursting out of the floor where her feet had just been.  The love of God in her could not be contained and was bringing life everywhere she went. 

The love of God is alive and active in us.  What a beautiful picture of that reality.
