Testimonies are so important to us as believers. Many times we don’t recognize just how crucial they are until we find ourselves in the midst of craziness and we read an account of how the Lord brought someone else through the same things.
I think an effective scheme the enemy works against us is one of isolation. That is, when we are facing trials he whispers to us that we are the only ones, that we are alone. Believing this lie can lead to hopelessness and despair. Testimonies deal that scheme a critical blow restoring hope, courage and perseverance.
So I need your help. I’m asking for some testimonies from all of you extraordinary, ordinary people like me. I would like to share one or so a week so that we can all be encouraged. What has God done for you? What has God done through you? There is nothing too big or too small. So here is the first testimony of this new venture. This is from my friend Karen in her own words.
On September 19, as I was eating breakfast, I thought something foreign had gotten into my box of Cheerios. I had a very sharp pain in my lower jaw. After speaking to my Dentist by phone, seeing an ENT, then seeing my Dentist and then seeing his assistant...I then saw an Oral surgeon.
This was not a dental issue. The pain was getting worse. It hurt to talk, hurt to eat, most times I didn't finish eating due to the pain. It hurt to brush my teeth, put my make up on....even if i were just sitting and still, I would have firings in my jaw.
This pain went on for 4 months and 8 days. The next thing on my schedule was a consult appointment with a neurosurgeon. I had met with a neurologist, I had an MRI and I couldn't live with this pain any longer. I tried acupuncture as well. That was when a dear Friend, at my request, came to our house and prayed and anointed with oil as taught in James chapter 5.
Our Friend came to our house on Monday, January 27. The next morning, I woke up and went 2 hours with NO pain! This was HUGE! Our Friend, who I believe has the gift of healing as taught in I Corinthians chapter 12, coupled with the Lord directing me to an Upper Cervical Chiropractor...is what I believe the Lord has used to heal me!
I have my life back! The pain was life altering and debilitating. Our Friend and I both agreed that God is the One who does the healing....in His timing. All that is required of us is to ask and believe. I am thankful for such Friends, for such praying and believing Friends and for a God who heals!! By January 31, 2014...I was eating with NO pain! I continue with my Upper Cervical chiropractic appointments and am thankful for even more improvement along the way!
