Our Kids Camp this year had the theme: MOUNTAIN MOVERS. We studied Moses in depth and how he moved the mountains of fear, low self-esteem and doubt by going UP the mountain to meet with God. There he encountered pure truth and received his calling. By being obedient to the Lord’s direction, Moses became strong and confident, able to accomplish the great assignment God had for him. He then went and brought OTHERS to the same mountain to encounter God for themselves! What a lesson we all learned this summer!
While at camp, they created “Remembrance boxes” in which they placed 12 smooth stones of their choosing. This was to symbolize the 12 stones that were built as an altar to the Lord during important times in the young Israel’s history. They were commanded to build these pillars of “remembrance” to explain to their children as they grew what happened during those dates and events. On 6 of the stones, the kids were asked to write one word that described the fun things they remembered about camp. On the other 6, one word that described what God showed them or spoke to them during the week. It was a powerful time of discovery for the kids, and an amazing time of revelation for the adults as they heard from the kids what their time at camp meant for them.
They also took small geodes (rocks with crystals contained inside), and took turns breaking them to see what treasures waited for them! We explained how the world sees them on the outside as small, common, nothing special, unworthy of notice. But as they broke the geode, this was how GOD saw them, as carrying something precious within – His Holy Spirit! They are filled with treasures of color, shapes and incredible beauty! God has placed unbelievable stores within each of us, unseen by the world, but when the “pressure is on”, it can open to what is reality – Jesus within us! These remembrances of who God made them were then placed in their boxes and taken home.
We also created and wrote in journals that we encouraged the children to take home and continue in. They had opportunity to write every evening in these journals after our soaking prayer sessions, and even during the day if God spoke to them. There were amazing entries from many children who saw vision and heard God’s voice for themselves for the very first time! The adults were filled with awe as we heard these children reveal what Father had shared with them.
One girl, in particular, had a couple of awesome entries she and her parents agreed to share with us. After the very first time she encountered Jesus in soaking prayer for about 30 minutes, this is what she wrote in her journal:
“June 23rd Monday - I see parts of Jesus's face (eyes, nose, beard). See Jesus lifting his hands up to the sky, lights coming out of his body. He is wearing a white robe with red areas on his robe. I pay close attention to his eyes and I stare into them. I notice he is standing on Calvary's hill and I see the crosses behind him. I felt like crying. I see different spots of colorful lights shooting down from the sky. Jesus condenses the lights into a type of flower. Jesus gives it to me and puts it into my hair. He hugs me at one point and I start crying.”
What a beautiful time with Yeshua! This same young lady (14 years old) had another revelation from the Lord which, at first glance, may appear to be “incorrect” in the eyes of the average Christian. Read what she was given just two days later:
“June 25th Wednesday - Jesus to her – “You are to me like the sun is to the earth.”
Her thoughts - Jesus gave me this idea and and showed me the planets orbiting the sun. The Sun is important to the Earth because it makes a path to which the Earth follows. The Earth's orbit is dependent on where ever the sun is. The same way God arranges Himself so that we may be able to feel His presence in our daily lives. He arranges Himself and follows us where ever we go. He is the Earth always surrounding the Sun. No matter where the Sun is, the Earth is always there surrounding it.”
At first we may think – “Oh, no, Jesus is the Sun, not the Earth”. But take another look. After she heard from the Lord, she got the revelation – not one we would normally think of, but God had her thinking “outside the box” – not normal thinking to us, but children see things differently, and if we allow God to rule and reign, He WILL give us insights not “normally” seen! God was showing her that He is always surrounding her and will not go away – He CANNOT go away from us – just as the Earth cannot stop orbiting the Sun. God was explaining to her, in a way that is unique and personal, that she could understand, that He would NEVER leave her, no matter what. From this picture, she got the assurance that the great Lord of the universe will always be there by her side!
Camp was an awesome time of revelation and deliverance of those things holding us back from serving God with all our hearts. The children saw and believed, and are on a new journey to continue listening for that Voice that will direct their steps into their destiny! Thank You, Jesus, for empowering a new generation that will do great exploits for You!
