A Scholarly Review of Meditate Showing "hagah" Includes Envisioning (Josh. 1:8)

Mark Virkler's picture

The following is excerpted from the free downloadable book How to Release God’s Healing Power Through Prayer by Greig, Virkler, Gaydos (pages 7-9). It builds a powerful case showing that the Hebrew concept of meditating involved envisioning. So let's not give envisioning over to the New Age movement. Godly imagination is defined as picturing things God says are true. Pictures are worth a thousand words. They are powerful. Let's fill the eyes of our hearts with godly imagination, dreams and visions (Acts 2:17; Eph. 1:17,18). The Word promises that those who do so will be prosperous, successful and blessed! Thank you to Dr. Gary Greig who wrote this piece and is pictured below.

How Do You Fund Ministry?

Mark Virkler's picture

Many people have this question. They feel called to "full time ministry" and wonder how to fund themselves, pay their bills and support their families if they do. The answer may come back, "Just trust God and live by faith," which is generally interpreted to mean, "You don't have a set salary, but live on whatever comes in through gifts." Others charge for their services, and may feel guilty when they are attacked and told that Jesus didn’t charge when He ministered the Gospel or that Jesus sent the disciples out and told them to take nothing with them, but enter homes into which they were welcomed and accept what was given them. Hmmmm! So what does the Bible teach about funding ministry?

Many People Only Hear Me When I Shout

Mark Virkler's picture

The insightful journaling below is from Pastor Arthur Wesley, a UMC pastor ministering in Salem, Massachusetts and a Christian Leadership University student taking the Communion With God course.

What do You want to tell me about the tool of journaling? How important is it? What do You wish to speak into my life at this time?

The exciting testimony below is from Sybil Hamada, one of our graduate students who lives in Honolulu, Hawaii. She has just completed the Christian Leadership University course, REN507 Healing Anointing, and has found an increase in the healing anointing that flows out through her. Thank You, Lord, for courses which can stimulate faith and understanding and precipitate an increased anointing in our lives!

You Can Begin a Spirit-Led Home Group!

Mark Virkler's picture

Do you hunger for meaningful life-giving relationships with others traveling this road called life? Have you tried to forge these relationships and found it frustrating, if not impossible? You get into a small group, and it is boring, or a sharing of ignorance, or non-guided and always running off on bunny trails, or someone dominates the group so others can’t share. So what do you do? Where do you go? How can you find or create a small group where meaningful relationships are established?

George Neitz Life Transformed by God's Voice!

Mark Virkler's picture
I have over 600 journal entries since the winter of 2013! Each has been a blessing. I seem to always move in visions after a verse or word comes to me. I am always awestruck that the vision many times doesn't seem to make sense until I wait and then I hear the voice of the Lord developing what I have seen as a lesson or understanding for me. After 40 years of a Christian walk punctuated by years of frustration and wandering I came across Mark's teachings. What a Godsend!

What Affect Does Sin Have? Two-Way Journaling

Mark Virkler's picture

Below is some outstanding journaling concerning the role of the law and grace, sin and Christ's cleansing blood, and how all this affects our relationship with the Lord. Does God withdraw Himself when we have sin? Do I need to confess my sin since it was all dealt with by Christ's blood on Calvary? Get some wonderful answers from the heart of the Lord. The excellent journaling below is from Emeka D. A. Ojoko.
