If people are willing to confide in you does it mean you are trustworthy, or does it mean that you are known to be a receptive audience for gossip?
Do you have any family members that embarrass you? It is said that you can’t choose your relatives and you may find yourself related to people whose manners and character cause you distress or concern.
What do you look for in a church? One that meets your needs? Some churches offer a wide variety of ministry and programs.
Do you know the four words that are sure to get anyone’s attention? “As you were saying …” This indicates that you were paying attention to what they said, and remembered it, and thought it was worth repeating.
Does it seem peculiar to you that I said that if you seek to save your life you will lose it, but if you seek to lose your life for my sake you would obtain eternal life? Consider a parallel to the world of commerce. Who do you think is a better prospect for long term employment?
Do your children ever get in trouble when they don’t have enough to do? Mine do. Do you? If you don’t have enough worthwhile things to keep you occupied, you will find things that are not worthwhile.
Do you understand that hatred affects your judgment? It prevents you from seeing clearly. Do you understand that love also affects your judgment?
A ship has a captain, a country has a president, and a company has a chief executive officer. Experience has shown that even large complex organizations run best with a single person at the helm.
Are you waiting to be recruited to serve me, to have people notice your talents and encourage you to develop and use them? Who wouldn’t want to serve on the basis of popular acclaim? Yet this very rarely happens and it isn’t something you should wait for.
Do you ever feel that I am spending a lot for the development of your character? I am whether you realize it or not. Do you feel self-conscious about this expenditure on your behalf?
