1 Peter 3:3,4 - "Your adornment must not be merely the external—braiding the hair, wearing gold jewelry, or putting on apparel; But it should be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God."

LaWanda – ♪♪ Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.  There’s just something about that Name.  Master, Savior, Jesus, like the fragrance after the rain. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all heaven and earth proclaim.  Kings and kingdoms will all pass away, but there’s something about that Name.” ♪♪  Oh yes, Lord, there is something about your Name.  It speaks Savior.  It speaks Love.  It speaks Mighty King.  It speaks Lover of our souls.  Your Name is EVERYTHING, Lord, and we praise You.  We give You honor as the Name above ALL names.  Thank you, Jesus, precious Jesus, that we can know You as all those things…and even more.  Thank you, precious Jesus, our Lord and our God.

Let's Avoid Creating Ishmaels

Mark Virkler's picture

Let's avoid creating Ishmaels as we seek to fulfill God's destinies for our lives. We each have a vision and destiny placed in our hearts by God. The passion to see it fulfilled is also placed in our hearts by God. Abraham had a destiny given to him at 75 years of age (Gen. 12). After waiting for more than a decade for God to fulfill it, he and his wife decided on a way they could help bring about the fulfillment of this vision. Ishmael was born. This was NOT a directive that God had given to them. It was a work of their flesh, and God rejected it. In the journaling below God spoke a warning to me, and to all of us.
