The Bible says that when you fast "...thine health shall spring forth speedily..." (Isa. 58:8 KJV) or "your recovery will speedily spring forth" (NASB).

The Hebrew word translated fasting means "to go without eating" or “abstain from food” and also “to afflict the soul."

Biblical definition of fasting - subduing the flesh to the spirit by choosing not to eat food.

In John 7:37-39 Jesus states four simple heart postures which release the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Jenneth Graser and I met 25 years ago at the Catch the Fire School of Ministry in Toronto. In Isaiah 46:9-10 God declares things that are yet to be seen in the natural. “Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.” God had a plan for the future even from ancient times. He declared things that were to happen there. He saw things that would be necessary for the fulfillment of his plan. Some of those things were you and me.
