The Princess Bride.  Classic.  Anyway,

We were called for a cardiac arrest and arrived to find a middle-aged man lying on the floor not breathing and with no pulse. 

I was reflecting the other day again about how much God speaks to me and shows me at the gym.  Really I’m only there about three times per week but it seems like God loves to take advantage of that time.  Maybe it’s because while I’m on the cardio machine there is really not a whole lot else to do but look at people and see what God is doing in their lives. 

I needed coffee.  There’s a 7-11 across the street from our fire station that blesses us with free coffee when we are on duty.  Perfect.  So I filled up my mug with hot go-go juice and headed back to the station. 

So if you can I’d like you to think of a time you spending some time with the Lord in which you received revelation that had the potential to change your life in some way.  Maybe it was something that was drastically different than the way you’d always believed.  Maybe you were reading a book and had the same experience. 

“I want you to ask him to stand, wrap your arms around him and tell him he’s forgiven.”  Those were the words I heard the Lord speak as I sat looking at a very tall, muscular man sitting on the couch across from me with an expression on his face that reflected the deep pain in his heart. 

Sometimes I think it can be hard to understand or recognize the glorious life we carry with us when we have given our hearts to Jesus.  Sometimes days just seem so dark and we can barely lift our heads.  But when we are pursuing His heart I think it’s difficult to keep the kind of life Jesus ignites us with inside.  Maybe impossible. 

My partner and I found ourselves in front of a young man who was having a bit of a problem.  Many people experience anxiety attacks.  They vary in severity but do progress rather quickly as anyone who has panic attacks could tell you.

I had the unexpected opportunity to pray with a co-worker who doesn't know the Lord the other day that was really great.  My partner and I had just dropped our patient off in the hospital when my partner noticed one of our co-workers laying in one of the rooms.

I had taken my usual place on the elliptical machine and was about halfway through my workout.  For those of you who don’t know, an elliptical machine is a piece of cardio equipment.  I was getting pretty tired but I was also reflecting on the things of God.  I can’t remember exactly what I was thinking about but often times my mind just wanders to His goodness when I’m exercising.
