The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me. The LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted parts within me. He has sent me to bind up broken areas, to proclaim liberty to captive areas and freedom to parts within which are being held prisoner. Today is my day of release! (Isaiah 61:1, paraphrase)

Principles: Prayer is most effective when applied directly to the point in time at which the wound occurred and when the broken, captive part has direct encounters with Jesus.

If I can define a thing, I can go after it. Clear definitions of spiritual realities open the door so I can pursue living by the Spirit. I choose to live and walk by the Spirit (Gal. 5:25)!

This last week I was honored to teach Hearing God's Voice, Dream Interpretation and Prayers That Heal the Heart at the Austin Disaster Relief Network Annual Conference. These are hands on Christians who are serving their community by providing relief whenever a disaster hits. This is a movement which is getting ready to begin setting up similar church-centered relief ministries in major cities across the nation. Here is a picture of me with Daniel Geraci, their founder and president.

This new book is a powerful story of one man's journey from religion to Christian Spirituality. In the endorsement I wrote for the book I state: "Bill tells of the many false roads he traveled in his search. They are similar to the roads we all travel. I too fought for years to discover intimacy with the Spirit. Finally, God showed me it was as easy as quieting myself down, fixing my eyes on Jesus, and turning to the flow of the Holy Spirit within me. Wow! Home at last, after a 10 year search.

God wants us to hold pictures in our minds of His supernatural victories in our lives.

When the Israelites crossed the Jordan on dry ground, they picked up stones from the dry river bed, and when they got to the far side of the Jordan they stacked them up into an altar as a memorial of the victory God had just won for them. Now whenever they passed this altar, their children could ask what it was for and they could recount God’s wonderful miracle to them. In this way God's supernatural provision would never be forgotten (Josh. 4).
