This book teaches how to turn small group meetings into times of dynamic sharing of revelation concerning the real life issues we face daily. It addresses how to get everyone involved, how to limit the naturally talkative, and how to keep things on track.
People come to small group meetings expecting and fearing many different things. Some expect a boring lecture. Some hunger for riveting interaction. Some fear a couple of people monopolizing the entire evening and going off on a tangent.
This book will lead the reader into learning how to make small group meetings "experiences" rather than simply "studies." Discussion questions and action exercises are found at the end of each chapter. This is recommended for parents, small group leaders, pastors and teachers. You will learn HOW to create a revelation-based learning experience.
Training is to center on experiencing God and sensing the life of the Holy Spirit. Learning is to be much more than a study about God. It is to be an encounter with God. Coaching or discipling is the method Jesus used to train the twelve disciples.
When you team up with someone ahead of you in an area to mentor you, and you share your questions and steps of growth with them, receiving their counsel in return, you ascend more quickly into mastery in that area. Lord, speak to me about the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. How have I been using it? Have I failed to use it?
You have used it on occasion but have largely lived out of a sense of duty and striving to do only what I can do through you. This is a hard lesson to learn especially for those who have been taught from an early age to perform, strive, to do and not to do. My way is so much better. It is the only way of Life. The other is certain death and defeat. You have experienced both the life and the death, but far too often you have experienced the death.
When I was asked in a seminar this week how I defined “anointing,” I was astounded that I couldn’t answer the question with a precise, clear definition. So I admitted that I couldn’t adequately answer the question, and decided on the spot that I would explore Scripture and get a simple, practical, working definition of what it means to “be anointed.” On reflection, I realize that some believe the anointing is shaking or falling down or roaring or shouting. These may all be responses to the anointing, but what exactly is the anointing?
