Do you go to a church with a printed order of worship? Some churches use these, and others do not, but in nearly every case there is an agenda planned in advance by someone whether it is printed or not. Have you ever seen a printed service bulletin with an entry that says, at this point in the service the Holy Spirit takes over and we don’t know what will happen after that. Have you ever been in a service where this happened? Even if you can’t arrange this in advance you should consider it to be desirable and be prepared to abandon your planned sequence order when it occurs.

daily word - fixed agenda?
by Sue Furness
Absolutely - couldn't agree more - sadly most churches either don't consider the Holy Spirit capable of leading the church meeting or don't consider anyone there capable of hearing what He is saying. I went to a church that did many years ago so I know how much better it is; I haven't been able to find such a church where I now live. Fixed agendas don't leave room for God to move the way he does when His Spirit leads; once you have experienced that, the fixed meeting feels like just going through the motions of worship, and you long for the real thing. Thank you for giving this daily word.
