We make “tuning to flow” one of the four keys to hearing God’s voice. However, I have read three books recently on prayer and none mention “flow” as being what His voice in our hearts sounds like. This is extremely sad.
The four keys to hearing God’s voice
- Stillness: Become quiet inwardly
- Vision: Behold Jesus with you
- Spontaneity: Tune to flow
- Journaling: Record the flowing thoughts, pictures, and emotions
Hearing God’s voice is as simple as quieting yourself down,
fixing your eyes on Jesus, tuning to flow and writing.
The KEY is the synergy created as you use ALL four together!
Expanded and extended
We cover these four keys in depth in our books 4 Keys to Hearing God’s Voice, Dialogue With God, many blogs and video clips, and review them in several of the other books we have written.
Nearly 100 people have now put these four keys into the books they have written. This is all promoting a revolution in the body of Christ as people come alive to dialogue with God daily. This is something they had never been taught they could do easily and daily!
Abandoning key biblical concepts to the world
The world can say "flow." Why can’t the Church? If you are going to learn to prophesy, fix your eyes on Jesus ministering to the person in question, tune to flow, and speak the flowing thoughts and flowing pictures and flowing emotions that are bubbling up within you. That’s not hard to say, but how often have you heard it?
The world talks a lot about the flow experience (just Google the phrase "living in flow"), and they have entire books on flow. The Church doesn't.
Precise definitions DO make all the difference!
So can I remind you once again that we MUST use this biblical word so that left-brainers know what they are to be tuning to when they want to tune to His voice? Look at the emphasis the Bible places on FLOW.
- Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb (Rev. 22:1). This is the Spirit of God, and it is flowing, and everything it touches lives (Rev. 22:2).
- He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, from his innermost being will FLOW rivers of living water. But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (Jn. 7:38-39).
- For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, The fountain of living waters, To hew for themselves cisterns, Broken cisterns that can hold no water (Jer 2:13).
Each of the above verses describes a fountain, a river, that flows, and this Fountain is the River of the Holy Spirit, that brings life to everything that is touched by it.
I do not want Christians to be forced to turn to the world to discover teaching on living and working in flow, and the awesome creativity and anointing that comes from this.
You can participate in promoting the Spirit-anointed lifestyle!
I want the Church able and ready to articulate “flow” and describe it as the River of God within, and that by beholding Jesus always at our right hand we can gain a pure flow because the flow comes out of the vision held before our eyes (Acts 2:25; Matt. 28:20 Modern KJV). Yes, vision, seeing, and beholding are also important to be taught, as Westerners have been taught NOT to see and even to FEAR seeing. Yuck! Most don’t bother to behold Jesus always at their side, or even behold Him as they worship. This is because of essentially NO teaching on the proper use of the eyes of our hearts. Let’s not give this birthright over to the New Agers! It’s our truth.
I want them to know that everything done outside of flow is a “dead work” (Heb. 6:1,2), and is worth nothing (Jn. 6:63), so you must ALWAYS be in flow, so you are always anointed by the Spirit and never creating Ishmaels.
- Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works (Heb. 6:1).
- It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words (rhema) that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life (Jn. 6:63).
An anointed Church transforms the world!
We need the Church to be anointed and alive with the power, wisdom and healing touch of God! We need this revival. The world needs it. The nations need it. We can offer it if we can explain simply and clearly how it occurs and invite people into it.
I do not want the Church to sell its birthright to the world because we can't clearly define life in the spirit, and they can. What a travesty.
Let’s forever uproot the lie that we can live on our own, out of our abilities.
- Satan said: “You can know” (humanism and rationalism – Gen. 3:5)
- Jesus said: “Apart from Me you can do nothing” (abiding – Jn. 15)
Yes, and Jesus felt He needed to repeat eleven times that He did nothing on His initiative, but only what He heard and saw His Father doing (Jn. 5 – 15. See this blog). So obviously satan’s lie was deeply rooted in the hearers of Jesus’ day, and it still is today.
Let’s break satan's lies, release God’s anointing, and restore the Church and our nations. If we don’t, who will?
