On Things Above by Murray Dueck is an amazing book of 52 prophetic activations. I have hungered to see such a book as this for many years. It is one thing to be prophetic yourself; it is another to teach someone else how to become prophetic. Murray will teach you how to be more prophetic.
I (Mark Virkler) have taught people how to hear God’s voice and see visions for some time. However, Murray has taken this a step further. He has encouraged us to ask the Lord a series of specific questions, which in turn provide us with increased insights and revelation and expanded encounters with the Lord.
As Murray points out, “We have not because we ask not.” And it is the Lord’s good pleasure to give to those who ask. To be truthful, I was not asking enough of the right kind of questions. I didn’t really know the types of questions to ask that would unfold the mysteries of God. In this book of activations, Murray will give you a series of excellent questions to ask the Lord and by so doing you will receive increased revelation from God in a host of areas. For me, this increased my faith and has made my devotional time much more vibrant and exciting. These activation exercises have taken me to a new place in God.
For example, I had never asked the Lord where He wanted to meet me as we came together. I just always met Him walking with me along the Sea of Galilee because that is where I like to go. However, when Murray instructed me (in his book) to ask the Lord where He wanted to meet me, I was startled to hear the Lord say, “In heaven.”
Murray said the next question I was to ask was, “Why?” The Lord’s response was, “Because that is where I live.”
Wow! An explosion occurred within me. Of course He would want to show me His home. And of course He has told me in Scriptures that I am seated with Him in heavenly places. Since it is clear I am already there with Him, why not meet Him there? So now I picture going to heaven on a regular basis and meet with Him. Why wouldn’t I? And since Murray has taught me to ask questions, I ask Him questions as we walk through the terrain in heaven: “Lord, what is behind this door? Can we go in? Can I see what’s in this room? Can we walk through this field?” Wow! A whole new realm opened up through just this one journaling exercise, and because of it, I have been changed forever in my approach to God and in where I meet Him. How precious is that!
This is just one of the 52 activations that Murray has prepared for you in this book (one for each week of the year). He will take you by the hand and lovingly and masterfully guide you into the presence of the Lord, and then instruct you in the questions you are to ask the Lord so you receive from God more of what He desires to reveal to you.
Murray, thank you for creating this gift to the body of Christ! I pray for each reader that you be taken to spiritual places you have never before gone. I believe you will be, even as I have been.

I am a gardener. I love to grow vegetables and flowers. It is part of my heritage. My Father was raised on a farm my grandmother had a one-acre vegetable garden that she fed her family from.
