We ALL Need a WONDERFUL COUNSELOR as Covid 19 Becomes a Worldwide Pandemic

Mark Virkler's picture

The amazing thing is that we DO have a Wonderful Counselor! Yes, it is true schools and colleges and sporting events have shut down. Businesses, stores, cruises, and theme parks have closed. Nations have sealed their borders. Fear is ready to surmount reason.

In the midst of this, the Bible says:

For a child will be born to us … the government will rest on His shoulders… His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace (Isa. 9:6).

Covid 19, Fear, Panic, Revelation, Reason and Anointed Action

Mark Virkler's picture

I received an email today which included the following questions: What are we to think about the Corona Virus, the nation's/world's response to it?  The collapse of our economy, the sequestering of peoples.  Are we in the tribulation, last days?  How does this fit into prophecy?  How do I manage the fear I have for the safety of my children, grandchildren, and for our jobs and abilities to buy food and survive?  I feel ill equipped to navigate these waters.

How Faith & Love Flow Together

Mark Virkler's picture

God's abiding realities include faith, hope and love (1 Cor. 13:13). In this article we will explore two of these three. In the twenty-six verses below, you will see that faith and love are linked. We maximize the release of the anointing of the Spirit of God when we are living in both faith and love.

  • Faith arises as God speaks and grants vision (Gen. 12:1-3; 15:5, 6; Rom. 10:17).
  • Love is expressed when a wave of God’s compassion flows out through you (Matt. 14:14; Jn. 7:37-39).

What Does It Mean When God Says He Watches Over His Word To Perform It?

Mark Virkler's picture

Lord, You have said You watch over Your word to perform it.

  • The LORD said … I am watching over My word to perform it (Jer. 1:12).
  • For I the LORD will speak, and whatever word I speak will be performed (Ezek. 12:25).
  • Like apples of gold in settings of silver Is a word spoken in right circumstances (Prov. 25:11).

The underlined word in each of the above verses is dabar (Strongs # H1697). The definition, according to Brown, Driver, Briggs is: speech, word, speaking.

Heart Prayers: Seven Elements Which Compose The Language of Our Hearts

Mark Virkler's picture

Questions: How do I write a message on my heart? What is the language of MY heart? How do I engage in “heart prayers” rather than prayers from my head? People tell me all the time that they have been in counseling for months or years to process their hurts and are still in pain! Or they have been praying for a miracle of healing, and it is still delayed. As I ask them what they have done, and listen to their story, I am able to help them see: They have NOT been using the language of the heart to heal their hearts. They have been using the language of their minds, analytical reason, and that is why they are still stuck!

A Scholarly Review of Meditate Showing "hagah" Includes Envisioning (Josh. 1:8)

Mark Virkler's picture

The following is excerpted from the free downloadable book How to Release God’s Healing Power Through Prayer by Greig, Virkler, Gaydos (pages 7-9). It builds a powerful case showing that the Hebrew concept of meditating involved envisioning. So let's not give envisioning over to the New Age movement. Godly imagination is defined as picturing things God says are true. Pictures are worth a thousand words. They are powerful. Let's fill the eyes of our hearts with godly imagination, dreams and visions (Acts 2:17; Eph. 1:17,18). The Word promises that those who do so will be prosperous, successful and blessed! Thank you to Dr. Gary Greig who wrote this piece and is pictured below.

What About Paul’s “Thorn in the Flesh"?

Mark Virkler's picture

Question: I believe God doesn’t always want to heal us because Paul had a sickness which God did not heal. What about the thorn in his side? "Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me--to keep me from exalting myself!" (2 Cor. 12:7)

Approaching Scripture with a Listening Heart

Mark Virkler's picture

The following story is from Robin Little: I recently resumed my studies with CLU after a four year break.  In the second lesson of the foundational course, How to Hear God's Voice, I had a question for my Instructor but she suggested I journal it instead.  Here are my questions and Father God's surprising answers.
