Experience Rest by Learning How to Delegate

Mark Virkler's picture

Everyone delegates. Delegation is one way we can reduce the stress in our lives. I am amazed at how effectively my son and daughter-in-law delegate jobs to their children and how well my grandchildren do these jobs. Through this my grandchildren are learning key life skills and being paid in the process.

Moses was experiencing burnout because he was the only one judging the Israelites when they had quarrels. Jethro, his father-in-law, taught him how to delegate. Read the story in Exodus 18:13-22.

Must I Work Hard To Be Successful?

Mark Virkler's picture

Hmmm, what does the Bible say? Seems like my constant pushing produced internal stress, which led to a heart attack three months ago. So is there something I need to learn about living in rest, and living stress free? Obviously stress is a killer. Below is my story, followed by some key biblical principles.

God Says I Am Healed Yet Symptoms Persist

Mark Virkler's picture

Restless leg syndrome started seven weeks after open heart surgery. I prayed for healing and then journaled and God has told me I was healed physically. Yet the symptoms of the infirmity persist. So now what do I do? Acknowledge I still have restless leg syndrome, or acknowledge that I’m healed?

Download this “Inner Healing for an Organ – Prayer Worksheet and complete it (free and interactive), or you can do your journaling in your journaling notebook.

Ever So SLOWLY Learning About Blood Pressure

Mark Virkler's picture

Four days after leaving the hospital from my heart bypass surgery, I met for the first time with a nurse practitioner at the office of my “functional  medicine” MD, Dr. Jose Fernandez who was recommended to me by my chiropractor. She told us to purchase a $30 blood pressure monitor and check my blood pressure morning and evening. I did. You can also  purchase one from Amazon.

I saw it steadily going down, which concerned me. So I called the hospital where the surgery was performed and talked to the head nurse on the floor I was on. She informed me the first of the two numbers given in a blood pressure test is the number to be concerned about and it should not go below 90 (I was still at 92.) The first number (systolic) is your blood pressure when the heart beats and pressure is exerted in the arteries, and the second number (diastolic) is blood pressure between each heartbeat when the heart is at rest and not pumping blood into the arteries.

Overcoming the Fear of a Cancer Diagnosis – By Mike Bastien

Mark Virkler's picture

Satan is a thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). Facing surgery next Monday for the diagnosis of bladder cancer…much fear, doubt, pictures of my death, the laughter of others who have spoken evil things about me flash through my mind. I recognize them all from satan, the accuser, liar and thief. I renounce and rebuke demons of self pity, fear, doubt and unbelief.
