Repentance from dead works is the first of six foundational experiences (Heb. 6:1,2). In other words, "Stop doing your ideas which produce Ishmaels." Only do what God tells you to do (Rom. 8:14; Jn. 14:10).
In my hunger to live by the Spirit, God guided me to look up all 1200 verses on heart and spirit. (I assume at least a 95% overlap between heart and spirit - Ps. 143:4.) I wanted to know everything God has said about my spirit so I could define it, feel it, detect it, live from it, and communicate these truths with a biblical vocabulary to others.
