As Craig Ward is working through our e-learning Spirit Life module on the Pentateuch (the first five books in the Bible), he submitted the following revelations which he has allowed me to share with you. This is an example of journaling through the Bible. It is a wonderful way to combine the Word and the Spirit! Note God's passion for intimacy is demonstrated already in Genesis, and continues throughout the entire Bible.
As I am meditating through Genesis and now gone through Exodus what really stands out is God wanting a relationship.
- Adam walked with God in the cool of the day.
- God took Enoch because He could not do without him.
- Noah found favor in His eyes as did Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph.
But Exodus moves into intimacy. God wanted us to know his closeness with us Moses cried out "If your presence does not go with us we will not leave this place", or "Show me your glory like saying show me who you are", Moses was said to speak with God face to face and when he came away he glowed but what is also amazing is when Moses left the tent where he met with God Joshua stayed behind. Joshua had become consumed with the presence of God he did not want to leave. God wants us to know His intimate closeness.
I love my dreams and am so reminded of one I had a few years ago where I was told in the dream to read 2 Corinthians 6:16 “I WILL DWELL AMONG THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE". Praise God we are the temple of the Holy Spirit! We are the dwelling of God.
