Introducing Ken and Sylvia Thornberg and Freedom Encounters

Ken and Sylvia of Freedom Encounters provide prayer ministry. Many, perhaps all, are in need of such ministry. The information below will acquaint you with their ministry.

In 1991 Freedom Encounters Inc. was officially established in Boise, Idaho by Executive Director, Ken Thornberg.  After their marriage in 1995, Sylvia joined Ken full-time.  Ministering to the Body of Christ as a team, the Thornbergs offer several teaching seminars on various topics that strive to present unique and dynamic perspectives.  They also train and equip individuals to join them in serving the Body of Christ to advance the Kingdom of God.  There are three primary focal points for FE ministry:

By the leading and power of the Holy Spirit, the Thornbergs and their trained team members minister quiet and respectful prayers that provide freedom, healing and positive transformation to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. 

Ken has walked with the Lord for 50 years to learn how the enemy works to control / manipulate and captivate people by numerous harmful ways that are not usually detected as having a demonic root cause.  He learned how to destroy harmful elements quickly and to remove demonic spirits.  Many people know that “Soul Ties” and “Generational Spirits” negatively impact people.  However, the Lord revealed the enemy can employ 10 different “Special Ties” and 24 “Curses and Spells” (with Backups and Replacements for each).  No wonder people are suffering with bondages and torment!

In addition, the Holy Spirit led Sylvia to develop critically important after-deliverance procedures that minister wholeness and deep inner healing for clients.  She also worked together with a few team members to develop helpful aftercare tools that when used, serve to equip FE clients to move forward positively with their lives.  These valuable handouts equip FE clients how to pray and keep their freedom so that they can be strengthened and enabled to develop a deeper relationship with Jesus.

FE has also been given a specialized Call of God to provide ministry for Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA) survivors that most often involves various layers of trauma and complexity.  We feel great compassion for those who have experienced such torment and pain.  Many FE teammates are actual SRA survivors who are free, well, and are now helping others. 

• The Lord taught Ken special ministry steps to provide cleansing, healing and integration for “Alters” (altered states of being, aka Dissociative identity Disorder or Multiple Personality Disorder).  Over several years of direct ministry experience Ken discovered that many people have one or more Alters that require freedom and healing.  See videos: https://www.freedomencounters.com/the-divine-phenomenon-of-mpd-did/

We have learned that childhood trauma and sexual abuse are responsible for causing confused and suffering Alters within the victim to manifest homosexual, lesbian, identity confusion and other common “acronym” behaviors.Medical and counseling providers usually treat such situations by prescribing medications or “coping” methods that do not correct or remove the root causes.The Lord has a better way for providing a permanent cure by His power.

• Ken has ministered to over 2,300 clients with MPD/DID, and roughly 600 SRA survivors from many nations of the world who have been set free and made whole by the power and anointing of the Lord Jesus Christ.  FE teammates have also been trained and empowered to free many more SRA survivors.  We praise God for His never-ending wisdom, grace and love!

2.  TERRITORIAL INTERCESSION

The second focus area involves teaching and training people who are called and empowered by the Lord to pray territorial intercession according to His plan, timing and spiritual warfare procedures.  These tactics and procedures employ God’s wisdom and direction to achieve powerful results for the defined territory.  Fear of receiving demonic retaliation is often a primary concern for people, and it is a valid issue for consideration.  When we follow the Lord’s wise procedures and timing, those participating in FE’s territorial intercession seminar instruction do not receive negative retaliation from the enemy. 3.  TRAINING and DEVELOPMENT of FE TEAM MEMBERS WORLDWIDE  

FE has trained and developed new teammates on every continent, nearly half of the providences in Canada, and in >50% of the states in America,  In locations where FE does not yet have trained team members established, some of our very gifted and experienced teammates are willing to provide FE ministry via Zoom. 

With 160 active teammates in January 2020 -- and with quick growth continuing -- FE hopes to expand within additional U.S. states and country locations. Presently the ministry procedures are offered in English, French, German, Mandarin and Spanish.
