I had the privilege of interviewing Joshua Mills last week to discuss his excellent new book, Creative Glory - Embracing the Realm of Divine Expression. His passion is to help Christians access the limitless creativity available to them through the Holy Spirit's anointing.
Joshua points out that our heavenly Father is introduced to us in Scripture initially as Creator. Genesis 1:1 tells us that, "In the beginning, God created...." Now God could have introduced Himself to us with any one of His hundreds of attributes, but creativity was the one chosen. While many of us know the Lord as Savior, Healer, and Deliverer, in this season He is inviting us to know Him more intimately as Creator, allowing His Spirit of Creativity to flow in our hearts and out through our lives, transforming every sphere of society.
God's intention is to see His creative energy released through us into a world desperately needing to behold His glory. Divine creativity heals our nations' problems, restores health, and makes us leaders in the world today. Joshua and I had a wide-ranging conversation touching on everything from angels of creativity who assist in book writing and worship ministry, to the fact that every believer is creative and it is God's desire that His Church be the most creative people on the planet!
Joshua discusses how he experiences God's creativity in his own life. He describes creative glory within you as an energy flow that enlivens you, fills you with peace and joy, and sustains you with supernatural strength. It awakens you and satisfies you and causes you to move forward in new directions and do things you never even dreamed you were capable of doing. Indeed, nothing is impossible because it is the Holy Spirit living in you Who empowers you to do the greater works!
I think you'll find it helpful to hear how Joshua experienced an unfolding journey of new strategic ways to do ministry over the past two years. While God didn't download the full picture upfront, as Joshua was obedient to take a step of faith, God was faithful to reveal the next step and then the next. Discover how the Lord led him to creatively reach people online and through social media when he wasn't able to travel and do conferences in person. God's heart is to touch His people, and His Spirit always makes a way!
