How Did King David Live in the Continual Presence of the Lord?

Did you know that King David visualized the Lord at his right hand all the time? I sure didn't. Not until Brad Jersek showed me Acts 2:25.

“David said of him, I saw the Lord before my face at all times, for he is at my right hand, so that I may not be moved” (Acts 2:25 BBE). “I have set the LORD always before me …” (Ps. 16:8 KJV).

King David knew how to abide in the Lord’s presence (Ps. 91).

Have you ever defined what "Godly Imagination" is?

We know what vain imagination is, and what evil imagination is. What is godly imagination?

"Godly imagination" is defined as “Picturing things that God says are true.”

We know God is with us always (Heb. 13:5), and King David saw that reality, by setting the Lord at his right hand. So King David used the eyes of his heart and practiced “godly imagination.” We can and should be doing the same thing - picturing the truths that the Lord wants us to focus on and make a reality in our lives.

But we don't just stop at godly imagination; we follow it up with the prayer for God to illumine the eyes of our hearts (Eph. 1:17,18). We step from the godly imagination into His divine visions (Acts 2:17). This happens when we tune to flow, allowing the Holy Spirit to take over the scene and bring it alive (Jn. 7:37-39).

At that moment we are moving from a godly imagination into a vision where we experience Jesus’ presence and healing touch.

We have learned to live as Jesus, doing only what we see the Father doing (Jn. 5:19,20). How valuable is that!

Prayer: One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple (Ps. 27:4). I have set the LORD continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will dwell securely (Ps. 16:8,9).
