I always had a desire to see people grow. However, I was definitely not your best student. By the age of fifteen, I was a school dropout and had already seen four high schools. My mentor told me that I would never amount to much as she reported me for community service. Even though I made some wrong decisions, I always knew there was something good on the inside. I felt mostly misunderstood and had always loved Jesus as a young boy. My parents were great examples and I still have many precious memories of our family.

It was in military service when I started praying on a daily basis. During a mission trip to Bosnia, I received keys to the base church and hosted prayer meetings in the night. Many soldiers from the UK, Romania and Bulgaria surrendered their lives to Christ. After four years of military service, I got promoted for a mission trip to Afghanistan. I was so excited, but heard Gods voice for the first time walking back to my room, He said: “QUIT.”

Not long after that, I found myself lying on my bed asking God to reveal Himself to me and touch me. On that specific moment, I felt heat and electricity going through my body. It was accompanied by colour and a bright light that surrounded me. I cried and felt an intense love for Jesus. In that same week, I had a vision for the first time in my life, delivered someone from drug addictions during prayer and started serving in church.

My own development has been a journey of wanting more, praying more, studying more and receiving more. With many ups and downs of course. I started my Theology study at an Evangelical university, a Mainline Protestant and later at a Catholic university. My connection with CLU began when I had a travelling ministry. Again a deep desire arose from within to continue my studies, but unfortunately none of the schools back home could offer me an online program. This because of a lack of materials.

When someone mentioned CLU to me as a serious option, I got really curious and navigated the website. I realised that this was a whole different kind of university. The willingness of Dr. Mark Virkler to think with me from the beginning, and the way he helped me frame a program toward my Doctoral degree, was simply amazing. That already gave me the feeling of being on the right track. Little did I know that Dr. Mark was a true pioneer in Spirit led teaching.

The most beautiful thing about CLU is that it provides a safe-place for those who are serious about their faith. One needs to have spiritual advisors in place, who can provide accountability. You will learn how to ask feedback and cope with it. The whole program is online and even the materials can be ordered digital, as well as hard copy. That was really convenient. It is also perfectly adequate for people who are willing to think out of the box, and are open to learning new things. For me it was like a breath of fresh air.

Once I enrolled, I got connected to an instructor who was very helpful and looked at all my lessons. In total he reviewed hundreds of lessons, but always responding back that he was praying for me and my family. The whole staff was very encouraging! From the very first course I took, I grew more in vision, flow and love for Jesus. I was not expecting this. At first, I was a bit sceptic about the LAMAD teaching style, because of my own hermeneutical development. However, the way this school is designed and the courses CLU provides, are in such a way that obtaining my Doctoral degree turned into a joyous adventure. I also learned more about the working of my own brain.

The CLU courses vary from leadership materials, to Bible books and practical preparations for ministry, amongst many others. Some of these are very unique like healing, business, the prophetic and dream interpretation.

My personal prayer time in the morning changed as we prayed and journaled together, my wife and I. Coming from a healing ministry we understood the basics, but through CLU it has been shaped and developed to the next level. The combination of working, ministry and studying at the same time was not a problem at all. I made a personal schedule and overview of courses that would help me and pretty much sticked to the plan. In the meantime, I have taught some of these courses myself and people always loved it. The voice of the Lord is the most precious thing and I can easily spend hours in prayer now, which used to be hard for me. It is true what they say, faith needs to be nourished and taken care of.

I can see multitudes of hungry people waiting for someone to come and share the good news. But I also know that there is a huge need in the Body of Christ for trained and equipped leaders. Or else we might reap a generation of undeveloped, un-discipled and insecure leaders. So let’s grow together. I have discovered that ministry is a joy instead of a burden, because the burden is light. It is a Kingdom thing.

I am so excited to see what the LORD will do in our generation. Hearing God’s voice and being led by the Spirit is of great importance to every believer in the Body of Christ. My prayer for you is that you will flourish in life and advance in your God-given ministry.

Stay on track,

Ronald Lakhichand
