The government calls everything they disagree with “misinformation” and shuns you. The church calls it “heresy” and shuns you. The establishment fights to preserve yesterday's codified information. Creative people push out the boundaries as they introduce new information. You and I are all caught somewhere in this tangled web.
Creatives from the past, prophets, and Jesus were shunned, considered heretics, and killed, even though they were the deliverers of freshly revealed truth. So it is today. One interesting thing you will discover in this seminar is that the words "heresy" and "heretic" don’t show up even once in the entire New Testament in the NASB.
“Decoding Deception” is a hands-on training experience. We learn a principle and then practice it in a group setting. This is all caught on camera. Wow! For example, we look up the verses in the Bible on God’s “Highway of Holiness” and discover who gets to walk on it. Then we explore the two ditches, one being the New Age Movement (spirit without the Bible) and the other being phariseeism (the Bible without the Spirit). Finally, we ask what Jesus did differently so He would not fall into either ditch. We decide to follow Jesus’ example.
We teach the value of looking up all verses in the Bible on a topic to discover everything God says about it, and then pondering together what we can learn from these verses. We used the topic of the antichrist and looked up all the verses in the Bible that have the word antichrist in them and discussed what these verses reveal about the antichrist.
We explore the difference between Pilate's philosophy of, “What is truth” and Jesus’ response, “I am truth.” So is truth a what, or Who?
We had a good time together and I believe as you watch it, you too will enjoy the learning process. Hopefully, you will turn around and run this series in a small group so your friends can explore all these issues together with you as you go through the eight sessions.
Thankfully, the Bible is crystal clear about how we come to the truth, so we will define that revelation and choose to live it out. Come and have a party with us! Let’s be prepared to weather the storm of deception that today surrounds us from just about every corner. Let us walk and live in the truth and share it joyfully with others. "Leadership is automatically transferred to those who remain optimistic!"
