There is a song written by the band Flaming Lips called “A Change at Christmas.” In this song, the singer tells us that he feels like there is something that happens inside of us that brings a change at Christmas then asks why this feeling can’t be all year long.

This is the purpose of this meditation about Christmas. It is how Christmas and the story of the Nativity, and ultimately, it is how Jesus changes and births in our heart His love not just at Christmas but all year long.

I had learned the four keys to hearing God’s voice through Mark Virkler and Communion with God Ministries. Bill Dupley’s book taught me about using vision to enter The Secret Place. I used these techniques of hearing God’s voice to meditate on the Nativity Story to bring it more to life in my heart. While going through these devotionals, use the four keys to hearing God’s voice for these journaling exercises.

I highly encourage you that when you meditate on these stories, you use your phone or stereo and put some of your favorite Christmas music softly in the background - whether it’s Christmas worship; instrumental or classic Christmas tunes. There is also plenty of Christmas music out there that is great that you probably have never heard of – I encourage you as well to use this as part of your meditation.

There are twenty-five devotionals. You may want to begin Thanksgiving weekend, or at the start of Advent, or on December first itself. The choice is up to you.
