I desire and prefer immediate miracles. However, the Bible states that in addition to miracles, God has provided to us “gifts of healings” (and both “gifts” and “healings” are plural in the Greek).
“God has appointed in the church… miracles, then gifts of healings…” (1 Cor. 12:28). This means there is a multiplicity of ways in which God can and will heal us, in addition to providing an outright instantaneous miracle.
10 therapeutic modalities the Bible says lead to health
Since one of the Greek words translated "healing" is therapeuo, here are a few therapeutic healings which are specifically mentioned in the Bible. Obviously there are more; this is just a sampling. - Fast and your health will spring forth speedily (Isa. 58:6-11)
- A joyful heart is good medicine (Prov. 17:22)
- Take a little wine for your stomach's sake (1 Tim. 5:23)
- Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Prov. 18:21)
- Godly imaginations take you forward (Jer. 7:24)
- Herbs are for the service of mankind (Ps. 104:14; Rev. 22:2)
- Anoint with oil and confess sins one to another (Jas. 5:14-17)
- Roaring at the enemy defeats the enemy (Isa. 31:4,5)
- Bodily exercise profiteth (1 Tim. 4:8 KJV)
- Wash using running water (Lev. 15:13)
