Ellen, a Missionary to Namibia Describes Her Process of Healing

"I have been “sick” for about 30 years (I turn 50 this year). At age 16 I had my first hip surgery and since then many other difficulties. I developed fibromyalgia and that got worse over the past few years. In December 2015 I was bitten by a spider and got a myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) and several viruses caused Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

In March 2016 I really “collapsed” and ended up in bed. I tried many things, many doctors, many diets, many supplements and medication. Some of them gave a bit of relief, but in the end I had to stop working. That was an emotional decision for me. I am a missionary, born in the Netherlands and working in slums in Namibia (Southern Africa) for almost 30 years. I just couldn’t believe this was God’s will for me, as I was doing His work! I ended up doing only the very basics, as I could do nothing more.

Then, in the beginning of this year, friends of mine had visitors and we went to eat breakfast together.

As I was always tired and sickly, which was very visible, the lady visiting asked what was wrong. I told her and she mentioned that a friend of hers in South Africa is a physiotherapist who has many different skills, has very good success and she advised me to go to her.

After praying, saving money and talking over email with this lady (Ina), I travelled to South Africa. Truly, this was Divine Intervention. Among many other things, Ina used Muscle Response Testing. She showed me your book on this subject. In the beginning this was very strange and new to me, but I learned to appreciate it and see it as a divine tool. I could see God working through this very humble and gentle person.

In the 3 weeks that I was there for treatment she determined through MRT that my hip surgery caused unresolved trauma which led to Fibromyalgia and this as well as some other trauma’s caused blocks in my life that made me sick, and prevented me from making spiritual progress as well.

After 3 weeks of treatment, I am physically so much better, not totally healed yet, but a whole lot better! Then I asked God if I could start working again. And He said no..... He said He was busy healing me and He would continue doing so, but I had to start with biblical meditation. That was something I never did, as I had trouble focusing my mind, and quieting my mind. I could never see vision, or hear His voice.

And again, God was so good to me. In these 3 weeks, Ina introduced me to your video series on “4 keys to hearing God’s voice”. A new world opened up to me. After the trauma treatment, I was able to quiet my mind, to sit quietly and meditate on Scripture, which was wonderful. And now, I even got to learn to communicate with God in a way that He has purposed for us from the beginning! I went home with my “new” body and new skills.

At home, I didn’t start working, but went on as I did before, with just some basic activities. One of them was a small youth group once a week, where we teach very disadvantaged children how to walk with God in their life. It’s 15 kids, for only 1 hour per week. And so, in that first week back home I went there and when I came home, I totally collapsed. That was unbelievable. So I started praying and asked God if He really wanted me to stop everything? And He answered.

Within a day I had 5 confirmations, from people, from God and from His Word. For another 3 months I had to quit everything and concentrate on Him, relaxing, healing. Now, I also do have quite severe osteoarthritis in my neck which gives a lot of pain and one specific vertebrae is very sore. The moment I said, “Okay God, I will listen, and really stop”, the pain was gone from that vertebrae.... What a mighty God we serve.

So I firmly believe that God is busy healing me completely in His divine way, and we really need to follow Him closely and listen to what He says!"

P.S. I had my pastor watch the introduction session of the 4 keys and he was very excited and we are definitely going to use it in church!
