When a child is born the relatives will comment on what other family members he resembles. Appearance is genetically transmitted, and so are behaviors and personality traits. In the long run it matters more who the new arrival acts like than who they look like.
You are my child and it is therefore normal for you to bear my appearance. Yet you have not seen me and don’t know what I look like. Yet in the more important sense of character and conduct it is possible for you to resemble me. Have you not seen my presence in others in the way they act? Let others see me in you according to your Christlike character.
